Izumi has 45 years experience teaching mathematics to young children and has now expanded throughout Southeast Asia. At the Izumi Academy of Laos students study using the Japanese Abacus (Soroban) method. Our program is for children 5-15 years old to study math after school and on weekends. Our goal is to develop the left brain and teach students fundamental skills in mathematics while making it FUN!
In the Izumi classroom we aim to inspire Lao children from 5 to 15 years old to love studying mathematics. In our classroom, we study using the Japanese Abacus (Soroban). We have 20 levels in our curriculum. Level 20 is the easiest, and level 1 is the most difficult. All of our students get a certificate from the Japan Abacus Association after passing the exam that starts from level 10.
All of the teachers at the Izumi Academy of Laos are tested and must pass the most difficult level from the Japan Abacus Association. We have a lot of pride in the fact that our teachers are highly qualified. Not only do our teachers come to teach your children, but to provide them with support, encouragement and most of all FUN!
The reason why we are teachers is for our students. Our biggest goal at the Izumi Academy of Laos is to inspire children to learn and help them pave a road to success. We want all our students to succeed in whatever path they choose for their life and we want to help open more doors for them.
My name is Nong Sengphom. I invest in classes at the Izumi Academy of Laos for three of my children. They have been studying since 2018 until now. My oldest daughter (Pretty 10 years old) and the second oldest completed level 1. They can calculate difficult numbers by heart easily and have full confidence in their math skills.
