Albert Einstein, the famous scientist said that “Every child is a genius”. However, if we let a fish climb a tree, a bird swim in the water, or a horse fly in the sky, they will wonder why they can't accomplish anything. This is also important for children. Each child has their own strengths and weaknesses. If a parent pushes a child who has talent in music to study math, or a child who has talent in math to study art, then that child will not be able to thrive. We should invest in education that will be the most valuable to each individual child. We should support their strenths and strong points or as the quote says “Put the right person in the right job”. Nowadays, the digital economy is growing rapidly. Moreover, COVID-19 has caused an acceleration in technology growth. The biggest movie theater in the world is not a physical building, it is Netflix and Disney plus. Platforms that we can use in our own home using the internet. The biggest shopping mall in the world does not have a physical building, or hired employees. It is online shopping platforms like amazon, alibaba, shopee, lazada, etc. The biggest bank where people around the world have invested billions of dollars, is a bitcoin which is a computer program running blockchain technology on the internet. The biggest restaurant in laos is not a physical shop, it is food panda, an app that people use all over Asia just by using the internet. In conclusion, technology and applications like Netflix, Disney plus, amazon, lazada, food panda, etc. are all operated by computer programming. The one thing that is common in all these programs is mathematics. Math is the basic subject of computer programming, science and all technology. Let's give our children the opportunity to study math and learn the basics to help them succeed in whatever career they choose.

Most importantly Izumi is FUN! In our classroom we encourage positive attitudes and smiles. We want our students to learn new skills while having fun!
There are 20 levels for learning Japanese Abacus (Soroban) which are Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Every student will start learning Soroban from level 20 which is simple addition and subtraction using one digit. Students finish learning Soroban at Level 1 which is more difficult.
The students come to study in class 2 times a week on average. They will study for 1 hour and focus on 3 parts:
1.Using a real Japanese Abacus for calculation (30 minutes)
2. Using a computer program to add and subtract numbers by heart (10 minutes)
3. Calculate equations by heart without Japanese Abacus called Flash Anzan (20 Minutes)
