At The Izumi Academy of Laos we use the soroban which is an abacus developed in Japan. It is used as a calculating tool to help students solve math equations like multiplication, addition, subtraction and division. This tool helps children to answer problems fast and efficiently.
In the Izumi classroom we aim to inspire Lao children from 5 to 15 years old to love studying mathematics. In our classroom we study using the Japanese Abacus (Soroban). Our classroom is a safe place for children to learn and have FUN!
